Site Assessments – Phase I, II and III

Other issues that are addressed in the report include:
- Land use
- Poor growth areas
- Weeds
- Landowner concerns
- Drainage concerns
- Recommendations for proper construction and reclamation
Phase I
A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment uses historical data (well file, EUB/AEP review, air photo), interviews, and a site visit to determine the likelihood that contamination may be present. This assessment is mandated by AEP and must be done prior to beginning any reclamation.
Phase II – General
- Assess Current spill sites or sites damaged in the past
- Develop remediation plan from current information
- Select the lowest cost remediation method applicable in the situation
Phase II – For Wellsite Reclamation Purposes
- Option if drilling mud information available is incomplete.
- Trained personnel locate and sample sump area.
- Test to determine soil condition and acceptability to Alberta Environment Criteria
- Report data.
- Apply for reclamation certificate.
Phase III Environmental Site Assessment
- Implement the remediation plan.
